Who we are:
Keren Brake (Rainbow Turtle) is the data controller for personal information collected through the website and through play therapy and supervision services. I am registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and follow the Data Protection Policy set out by Play Therapy UK (PTUK), the professional body I'm accredited with.
What information we collect:
Depending on how you get in touch, this may include your name and contact details, your child's name, age and reason for referral, information shared during an initial enquiry or consultation, and — with parental consent — information gathered during therapy sessions for review, clinical supervision and, where fully anonymised, quality assurance and service evaluation.
Why we collect it:
To respond to your enquiry, provide therapy or supervision services, review progress with you and relevant schools/professionals, and meet PTUK's professional requirements for supervision, audit and revalidation.
How we protect it:
Personal data is stored securely, access is restricted, and information shared outside the practice for clinical supervision, audit or research purposes is anonymised so individuals cannot be identified.
Confidentiality:
Information shared during therapy sessions is treated as confidential. The exception is where there is a safeguarding concern, in which case I have a legal and professional duty to share relevant information with appropriate people. This will always be explained at the outset.
How long we keep information:
The current retention wording should be checked against the applicable PTUK requirements before publication.
Your rights:
You have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you or your child and to request a copy of it (a Subject Access Request). Please contact me using the details below.
